Gold reprieves ahed of key US data's

Gold exhibited minimal movement, hovering near $4,170 an ounce in Asian electronic trading on Tuesday, following a prior session’s decline of more than $150, as persistent ambiguity surrounding US-Iran discussions maintained elevated oil prices and solidified anticipations of additional Federal Reserve policy adjustments to curb inflation. The dollar index remained above 101, proximate to two-month peaks, while Treasury yields stayed elevated around 5%. Market participants are now attentive to forthcoming US economic data, notably Wednesday’s PCE inflation report and Friday’s nonfarm payrolls figures, to glean additional insights into the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy trajectory. MCX December gold futures were marginally lower at Rs.1,48,560 per 10 grams.
