India-Netherlands trade summit strengthens bilateral ties

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, proceeded with a series of engagements with Dutch government officials, parliamentarians, and key representatives of Dutch firms in the Netherlands on 26 October 2026. The discussions centered on reinforcing bilateral economic collaboration, broadening trade and investment, and pinpointing emerging avenues for partnership between Indian and Dutch businesses. Goyal also addressed media representatives during his visit. The Minister emphasized the increasing impetus in India-Netherlands economic relations, notably following the advancement of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership and the finalization of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement. He stressed the considerable opportunities for augmenting trade, investment, and technology partnerships, and underscored the Netherlands’ pivotal role as a conduit to European markets. The interaction also facilitated the highlighting of India’s economic expansion, investment prospects, and dedication to fortifying its partnership with the Netherlands and the broader European Union.
